- KIND News is a classroom newspaper for children in grades K-6 published by the National Association for Humane and Environmental Education (NAHEE), youth education division of The Humane Society of the United States.
- It features articles, activities, puzzles, and celebrity interviews that help teach children the importance of treating people, animals, and the environment with kindness and respect. Its emphasis on humane values, such as fairness, compassion, and responsibility, seeks to encourage good character in children.
- A subscription to KIND News includes 32 copies of the newspaper and a teacher's guide each month of the school year, September through May.
- Free with every subscription is a copy of the KIND Teacher, an annual resource book featuring reproducible worksheets, KIND ID cards for students, a classroom poster, and a calendar of historical trivia, fun facts, and tips on helping animals and the environment.
- Teachers can subscribe to KIND News directly or receive it as a gift through NAHEE's Adopt-a-Classroom program available through us at Hill Country Humane Society/SPCA by calling (512) 793-5464.
- KIND News is published at three reading levels: Primary Edition (grades K-2), Junior Edition (grades 3-4), and Senior Edition (grades 5-6). Teachers can change reading levels at any time.
- Today KIND News is published monthly during the school year and goes to more than 37,000 elementary classrooms nationwide.
- Awards received by KIND News include the Association Trends Excellence in Association Publications Award and numerous APEX awards for publication excellence.
