You will still be required to fill out and sign a 'Spay/Neuter Agreement', an 'Agreement of Responsibility' a document informing you of the benefits of spay/neuter and a 'Follow up Information Form' at the shelter.

ADOPTING A LIFE LONG COMPANION ANIMAL IS A LONG TERM RESPONSIBILITY!
Staff & Management of the Shelter Reserve the Right to Refuse or Deny Adoption to Individuals who don't meet our Adoption Criteria. We will work with individuals by providing information, education and resources who are honestly willing to improve conditions so as to make them eligible to adopt.
    




Adoption Fees:

   Dogs--$75 and includes a $35 voucher redeemable at your Veterinarian Clinic towards spay/neuter and a bag of Science Diet Food worth $6.95.

   Cats--$62 and includes a $25 voucher redeemable at your Veterinarian Clinic towards spay/neuter and a bag of Science Diet Food worth $6.95.

You must be 18 years of age.

You must have a valid photo identification.

You must be able to support the costs of caring for the animal by being gainfully employed or if retired possessing adequate resources.

All current cats/dogs in household must already be spay/neutered.

You must sign and accept the terms of an "AGREEMENT OF RESPONSIBILTY".

You must sign and accept the terms of a "SPAY/NEUTER ADOPTION AGREEMENT" and you must follow through with spaying/neutering your pet. IT IS THE LAW!

NO adoptions will be made to anyone who refuses to have the animal spayed/neutered.

We will NOT adopt to anyone who wants to breed or allow the animal to have one litter.

You must personally fill out an adoption form and submit it for approval.

The person that will be responsible for the companion animal must be present at the time of the adoption and sign an adoption contract.

NO GIFT ADOPTIONS!


We will NOT adopt to any person having taken their animal to a shelter within 90 days.

When adopting a medium to large size dog you must have a fenced yard.

If previously owned animal has died of any airborne disease, adopter must wait one month before any animal of the same kind can be brought into the household.

Animal will be given to adopter only if everyone in the household agrees to the adoption of the animal.

Animals must leave the shelter in a secure manner: dogs leashed, cats and small puppies in a carrier.

NO animal may be transported in an open bed of a pick-up truck.

We DO NOT ship animals.

We will adopt animals to out-of-state homes that fulfill the following requirements:

* Must personally fill out adoption forms and fax/mail completed form to shelter.

* All current pets in household must be spayed/neutered.

* Must supply current Veterinarian contact information.

* Must arrange for transport.

* Must pay adoption fee and pay for necessary spay/neuter and rabies, bordatella vaccine before transport.

* Will be subject to home visit by a local Rescue Group arranged by the Christ-Yoder Animal Shelter/Adoption Center.
